In a Greek myth of old I find
shadows dancing on the wall,
fire shining from behind,
world outside unknown to all.

Dream and language interweaving,
represent reality,
Sign and word a world conceiving,
bounds of knowability.

Phantoms dancing through my mind
make shadows play upon my wall,
hints of wisdom shine behind,
world inside not known at all.
