William Blake: Tyger! Tyger!
#1
GB
Zitat:William Blake
Songs of Experience 1794

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Tiger, Tiger, Feuergeist
der durch Nachtdickichte gleißt,
welch' Göttergeist goß das Geas
des Schreckens in dein Ebenmaß?

Welch' Abyss, welch Himmel war
Heimstatt deinem Augenpaar?
Welcher Mut beseelte Schwingen,
die Faust, die Lohe zu bezwingen?

Welcher Schultern Macht hat stet
Sehnen deinem Herz gedreht?
Welcher Fuß, welch Götterhand,
hat Takte dir ins Herz gebrannt?

Welcher Fäustel, Blasbalg kreißt
welcher Esse deinen Geist?
Welcher Amboß, welche Hand,
hielt vor deinem Schrecken stand?

Als speergleich fiel der Sterne Brand,
wie Tränentau in Edens Land,
hat er, der dies erschuf, gelacht?
der’s Lamm ersann, auch dich erdacht?

Tiger, Tiger, Feuergeist,
der durch Nachtdickichte gleißt,
welch Geist goß mutig das Geas
des Schreckens in dein Ebenmaß?
Never sigh for a better world it`s already composed, played and told
