Oui, ce sont des regards de femme
Que cherche son regard brûlant,
Elle a soif de l'ardeur infâme
Qu'une autre sait mettre en son flanc.
Les yeux hagards, le trouble à l'âme,
La langue aux lèvres se collant,
Chacune tour à tour se pâme,
Se tord et retombe en râlant.
Bientôt leur tendresse lascive,
Comme une chaîne qui les rive,
Dresse dans l'ombre leurs tombeaux ;
Et sur la pierre, quand arrive
Le soir à la marche craintive,
Pleurent les filles de Lesbos.
