RÉVE DE NEIGE
VOTRE âme s'attriste en voyant l'automne
Pleuvoir du ciel gris en averse lente;
Le front à la vitre au bruit monotone,
Vos paupières ont joint leurs cils tremblants.
Vous rêvez déjà, presque somnolente
Au rythme endormeur de l'eau qui chantonne,
Des premiers flocons de neige si blancs,
Afin que du blanc sur du noir détonne.
Qu'ils rêvent du clair dans l'ombre qu'il pleut,
Vos chers yeux pensifs au fin regard bleu;
Ne les rouvrez pas: la chimère est brève !
Car il vous faudrait, en voyant glisser
La pluie à la vitre et le ciel baisser,
Reculer, hélas ! d'un peu votre rêve.
