伏見にいくさありとて火具の音のいみしう響き渡りかかれば
よそにきく
音もはげしき
時津風
花のみやこを
ちらさずもがな
“As soldiers engage at Fushimi
and the terrifying echoes of firearms traverse the distance”
Sounding incessantly from afar
these violent
winds of the moment—
how I wish they would not scatter
the blossoms of the Flowered Capital!
Als Soldaten Fushimi angreifen
und das Echo der Feuerwaffen durch die Gegend hallt.
Ständig von Weitem
die heftigen Geräusche
Sturm des Augenblicks.
Ich hoffe, sie zerstreuen
nicht die Blüte der Hauptstadt.
