Some names there are, like nature's beauty ne'er
Will age with time, for still her lustrous brow
Resplendent is whatever tempests blow,
And again in loveliness will appear ;
E'en such an one is that of Byron, —
who Will think it e'er can pall upon the mind,
A charm possessing, as if were enshrin'd
Mysteries like those beneath heaven's hue ?
Howe'er detracting clouds may gather round
Genius, potent as the transcendant sun,
Freely disperses, that no envious one
Interposes, darkly the view to bound ;
Nor is this fancy, reality will spring,
And bind with unadorned truth her agile wing.
