Mary Wroth: A Crowne of Sonnets dedicated to Love 10 - ZaunköniG - 16.01.2011 Mary Wroth ca. 1586 – 1640 A Crowne of Sonnets dedicated to L O V E 10 BEe from the Court of Loue, and Reason torne, For Loue in Reason now doth put his trust, Desert, and liking are together borne Children of Loue, and Reason, Parents iust, Reason aduiser is, Loue ruler must Be of the State, which Crowne he long hath worne; Yet so, as neither will in least mistrust The gouernment where no feare is of scorn. Then reuerence both their mights thus made of one, But wantonesse, and all those errors shun, Which wrongers be, Impostures, and alone Maintainers of all follies ill begunne. Fruit of a [sowre], and vnwholsome grownd Vnprofitably pleasing, and vnsound. 10 Am Hof der Liebe scheitert der Verstand, hat sich nun treulich ihr allein verschworen. Verdienst und Neigung sind in eins geboren als Kinder von Verstand und Liebe, fand Vernunft auch guten Rat, kann Liebe Kraft ihrer Verfassung ihre Krone tragen, daß niemand wolle nur zu zweifeln wagen, denn ohne Furcht gibt niemand auf sie acht. Dann ehren beide ihre Macht als ein, doch gilts die Lüsternheit zu meiden und das Unrecht, den Betrug, der ganz allein die Irrtümer gebiert, die böse enden; Frucht einer Saat und unheilvoller Grund sich unnütz in Vergnügen zu verschwenden. |
