Bellacoglienza e la Vec[c]hia
"Madonna, i' dotto tanto Gelosia
Ch'esto presente prender non osasse;
Che·sse domane ella mi domandasse:
"Chi 'l ti donò?", io come le diria?".
"Risposta buona i' non ti celeria:
Che s'ogn'altra risposta ti fal[l]asse,
Sì dì almen ched i' la ti donasse,
Ed i' le dirò ben che così sia".
Allor la Vec[c]hia la ghirlanda prese,
E 'n su le treccie bionde a la pulcella
La puose, e quella guar' non si contese;
E po' prese lo spec[c]hio, e sì·ll'apella,
E disse: "Vien' qua, figl[i]uola cortese.
Riguàrdati se·ttu se' punto bella".

CXLIII. Frohwillkommen und die Alte.
„Nein, Frau, mich läßt die Eifersucht nicht wagen,
Daß ich den Schmuck behalt und die Geschenke.
Denn sollt sie morgen fragen mich, bedenke,
„Wer gab dir dies?“ – was sollt ich da ihr sagen?“
„Wie läßt dich eine Ausflucht so verzagen!
Gut: schweigt die Zunge dir, die ungelenke,
So sag, ich gab dir Ring und Goldgehenke,
Und ich bestätige ihrs, sollt sie mich fragen.“
Und damit nahm die Alte das Gebände,
Daß sies der Schönen um die Stirne wände.
Und die ließ es geschehn, nicht mehr sich spreizend.
Den Spiegel hielt die Alte vor der Schmucken
Und rief: „Komm her, um hier hineinzugucken,
Und fragte dann: bist du nicht wirklich reizend?“
