"Ragion, tu sì mi fai larga proferta
Del tu' amor e di te, ma i' son dato

„Vernunft, du machst mir reichliche Versprechen
Mit deiner Liebe, doch treu bleib ich immer
Der Blume, und um andrer Liebe nimmer
Vertausch ich sie – dies Wort ist nicht zu brechen.
Laß klar mich reden ohne Silbenstechen:
Dient ich dir auch von Früh- bis Abendschimmer,
glaub mir, der Spielausgang blieb stets ein schlimmer,
Mag ich gewinnen oder muß ich blechen.
