L'Amante
"Ragion, tu sì mi vuo' trar[e] d'amare
E di' che questo mi' signor è reo,
E ch'e' non fu d'amor unquanche deo,
Ma di dolor, secondo il tu' parlare.
Da·llui partir non credo ma' pensare,
Né tal consiglio non vo' creder eo,
Chéd egli è mi' segnor ed i' son seo
Fedel, sì è follia di ciò parlare.
Per ch'e' mi par che 'l tu' consiglio sia
Fuor di tu' nome troppo oltre misura,
Ché sanza amor nonn-è altro che nuìa.
Se Fortuna m'à tolto or mia ventura,
Ella torna la rota tuttavia,
E quell'è quel che molto m'asicura".

XXXVIII. Der Verliebte.
„Vernunft, entfremden willst du mich der Liebe,
Und sagst, daß meinen Herrn als schlecht man kenne,
Der sich mit Unrecht Gott der Liebe nenne
Und besser sich als Gott der Schmerzen schriebe.
Glaub nicht, daß meine Treue je zerstiebe,
Noch daß von ihm dein schlechter Rat mich trenne;
Er ist mein Herr, für den als Knecht ich brenne,
Und Torheit wär ein längres Wortgesiebe.
Für mich ists klar, daß herzlich schlecht dein Name
Mit deinem Ratschluß sich verträgt; kein Segen
Kann sprießen, wo die Liebe nicht der Same.
Steht jetzt Fortuna feindlich mir entgegen,
Sie wird ihr Rad schon wieder anders schwingen,
Und diese Hoffnung soll mir Tröstung bringen.“
