Molto vilmente mi buttò di fora
Lo Schifo, crudo, fello e oltrag[g]ioso,
Sì che del fior non cred'esser gioioso,
Se Pietate e Franchez[z]a no·ll'acora;
Ma prima, credo, conver[r]à ch'eo mora,
Perché 'l me' cor [i]stà tanto doglioso
Di quel villan, che stava là nascoso,
Di cu' no·mmi prendea guardia quell'ora.
Or m'à messo in pensero e in dottanza
Di ciò ched i' credea aver per certano,
Sì c[h]'or me ne par essere in bilanza.
E tutto ciò m'à fatto quello strano;
Ma di lui mi richiamo a Pietanza,
Che venga a·llui collo spunton i·mmano.

VII. Der Verliebte.
Da jagte mich hinaus mit Augenrollen
Der Trotz, und roh und lieblos war sein Dräuen.
Ach, nun wird nie die Blume mich erfreuen,
Wenn Mitleid nicht und Freimut Hilfe zollen.
Doch vorher wird der Tod mich holen wollen,
Denn bittern Schmerz fühlt ich ins Herz mir streuen
Den Rüpel, dem ich, statt vor ihm zu scheuen,
Starkmutig hätt entgegentreten sollen.
Nun hat er Zagnis mir gebracht und Sorgen
Um jene, die ich wähnte schon geborgen
In meiner Hand; und neu muß ich es wagen.
Welch Grobian wußte mir den Mut zu dämpfen!
Doch bei Frau Mitleid will ich mich beklagen:
Die soll ihn mit der Lanze hart bekämpfen.
